چکیده
xercise or pharmacological stress myocardial perfusion single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) has been used in daily clinical practice as a reliable diagnostic modality and a prognostic marker for patients with coronary artery disease.1–3 We herein report atypical exercise stress myocardial perfusion SPECT imaging in a patient with effort angina pectoris. A 58-year-old male who had felt anterior chest pain during walking was referred to our hospital. He was suspected of having effort angina pectoris, and he underwent exercise stress/rest myocardial perfusion SPECT with a dual-isotope protocol using 201Tl at rest and 99mTc-tetrofosmin for stress imaging. Stress SPECT imaging showed a reduced tracer accumulation only in the basal anterior segment, including the anterolateral and a part of the anteroseptal segments (Figure 1A, black triangles). Rest imaging did not show reduced tracer accumulation in any segments, thus suggesting myocardial ischemia in the basal anterior wall. Coronary angiography was then carried out. The right coronary angiograms did not show any significant stenosis (Figure 2A). The

Frequency and severity of myocardial perfusion abnormalities using Tc-99m MIBI SPECT in cardiac syndrome X
BACKGROUND Cardiac syndrome X is defined by a typical angina pectoris with normal or near normal (stenosis <40%) coronary angiogram with or without electrocardiogram (ECG) change or atypical angina pectoris with normal or near normal coronary angiogram plus a positive none-invasive test (exercise tolerance test or myocardial perfusion scan) with or without ECG change. Studies with myocardial pe...
متن کاملDiagnostic Accuracy of Gated-SPECT Myocardial Perfusion Imaging and Exercise Stress Test for Diagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease
Background and Objective:Accurate diagnosis of CAD using noninvasive procedures is of great importance. The aim of the study is to assess diagnostic accuracy of myocardial perfusion imaging and compare it with exercise stress test in order to decipher a more accurate and cost-effective method for CAD detection. Materials and Methods:Of 430 consecutive patients suspected with CAD, 104 performed...

A 67 years old woman was referred to nuclear medicine center for myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) for assessment of ischemic heart dieses (IHD).She had a history of atypical chest pain and dyspnea since about 10 days before admission. The MPI SPECT/CT was performed by stress/redistribution Tl-201 protocol. MPI was interpreted as relatively good coronary flow with no appreciable stress induced...
متن کاملSerial Myocardial Imaging after a Single Dose of Thallium-201
Although thallium-201 exercise scintigraphy has been established for the detection of myocardial ischemia and viability, little is known regarding the myocardial thallium-201 kinetics during angioplasty. Herein, we report a 77-year old man with angina pectoris, in whom serial myocardial imaging after a single dose of thallium-201 was helpful in identifying not only the culprit lesion and myocar...
متن کاملTemporal Trends of Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography Myocardial Perfusion Imaging in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease: A 22-Year Experience From a Tertiary Academic Medical Center.
BACKGROUND There has been a gradual decline in the prevalence of abnormal stress single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) myocardial perfusion imaging studies among patients without history of coronary artery disease (CAD). The trends of SPECT studies among patients with known CAD have not been evaluated previously. METHODS AND RESULTS We assessed the Mayo Clinic nuclear cardiology ...
